A highly respected specialist, David is a chartered surveyor with over 35 years’ experience of conducting rent reviews and lease renewals in the retail and leisure property sectors throughout the UK.
David started his career in the Inland Revenue in Dorset, then headed to London to work at Chestertons and Hammond Phillips, before becoming a founding partner in Gilbert Evans LLP.
David has represented a broad range of both national/local occupiers, private landlord clients and property companies. He often acts as an Expert Witness, giving evidence to arbitrators and independent experts on rent review disputes and to the courts in respect of lease renewals.
As a dispute resolver, he regularly receives RICS appointments to act as Arbitrator and Independent Expert. He is a member of Arbrix and Index and an RICS-accredited mediator.
His current clients include Burger King franchisees, The Khosla Group, Hertz, Meadvine Limited, The Tsang Partnership Limited and Nicolas UK.
Interests outside of work include watching rugby, playing golf and making wine.
